It doesn't; a slightly different method for intercepting the output is required for V-Ray RT.

This is awesome. I'm wondering is still what the latest press release from Chaosgroup mentioned?

"This year we’ll surprise V-Ray fans with the launch of V-Ray for Nuke and V-Ray for Katana, integrating rendering capabilities seamlessly across the VFX pipeline. We will also show the latest improvements in GPU rendering, and much more! "

Or will we see something different as in a separate package / renderer for Nuke ?

@reny thank you for sharing the script, a video demo would be great, even if there is no voice over. Just to see the install process and rendering process?

      Exciting stuff.

        @johnchen
VRay For Nuke would be totally different from the simple output plugin I did.
Install process is clearly outlined in first post, just follow it.

I hope in the future that I can just provide a mel/python script and Vray4Maya can pick up external render buffer.

          Hi reny,

i just stumbled upon this post....how are things going regarding a linux release?
Is someone using this tool in production already?

I did use sometimes in production, but I think we had a good split on lighting/comp, so most lighter is just using VFB most of the time.
Linux release would be pending I think, we are wrapping up current project, so I might have time after it's done.
I already has the Nuke dev license, so should have no problem compiling it, hope it be simpler than setting up compiling on windows. XD

Is it possible to have different layers (render elements)?

                Hello reny,

Your work is really great, but I just did a test with Nuke 7 Beta 81 and it does not work.

Because I think any major release they will break some API stuff.
I'll re-compile or redo a new version for Nuke 7 after the beta is done.

Nuke 7 requires plugins to be recompiled; you can't load a Nuke 6.x plugin in Nuke 7.

                      Best regards,

I download Nuke 7.0 Beta with my dev license and give it a simple run, turns out pretty easy to compile and works like a charm.
I've updated the first post with new link to a new 7z file I uploaded.

If you run into any problem let me know.

                              Hi Reny,

                              Here goes an install question.

1)In your B instructions for the Vray 4 Maya side; what are the values or paths for these variables?
                              VRAY_FOR_MAYA2012_PLUGINS_x64
                              VRAY_PLUGINS_x64

Do you have any updates for this awesome tool?

                              Thanks,

                              Sebastian
