    Can RT save its frames as an animation like they can in Max?

    Only if you export a .vrscene and render through V-Ray Standalone...

      That's too bad... It's a bit cumbersome to use standalone just to do quick animation tests.

            ya, I wrote V-Ray Tuner and that script works. Vlado helped me integrate the commands to write the individual frames. Just set your frame range in the Render Settings, set a max time for RT frames (can be set at the bottom of V-Ray Tuner) panel and select RT Multiframe Render Script from the RT menu.
