  • Maya fluids in deep compositing

I just tried to render some maya fluids, and it was rendering nice with vray. But when I try to render using the "maya vray deep plugin", the fluid renders black in the .vrst file. So I guess that fluids are not yet supported by the deep plugin?

    Tnks a lot.

For the fluids to appear in the deep raster file, a special rendering mode for fluids is required where the fluid is represented as actual geometry to the renderer. Currently we have this available as part of the Phoenix FD shaders; we need to expose the option for Maya fluids when Phoenix FD is installed. I will see if we can add this easily to the nightly builds. You'd still need the beta of PhoenixFD though, even if you are only interested in the Maya fluids.

Yes, we have plans to support other fluids but it will take time.
