I don't think Joe created this blockage, the following 2 messages are his side of the story :

No, but who started the inquiry for what Yeti actually was, JoeAlter inc. wasn't it? Just sounds like everyone got confused for what Yeti technology actual is and where it came from. Joe didn't even know what it was apparently. Somebody got too excited I guess and Perigrin got scared and ran away from the US market.

To sum up, if I understand correctly :
-Joe Alter sued Disney/Pixar over XGen.
-Later, Peregrine Labs claimed to use part of the XGen technology.
-Joe says he didn't asked Peregrine Labs for anything, they decided to give up the US market to get immunity to the Disney suit.

If you have information that says otherwise, please tell us.

Isn't Joe too busy suing the makers of Yeti to integrate proper feature requests? Sorry... I'm a bit ticked at that. I've not been a fan of Shave for reasons of bad support, sloppy updates, and crappy licensing.

Again, even more sorry, I'm reading up a bit on the links provided above... but my opinion of his flaky support and updates still stands.

Well, the hair material support would be up to us to implement...

Joe has always been very helpful, I don't have any complaints in that regard. To make hair material work, the shave primitive must support some additional shading interfaces which are not documented in the V-Ray SDK so we have to do it here.

                Best regards,
