  • IES visible lights

I'm exploring IES lights in Vray. I'm able to load a file (downloaded here http://www.mrcad.com/download-free-ies-lights/) but I'm not able to see the light shape. I'm actually not familiar with light shapes in general in VRay so it's probably a switch I need to flip. Any tips? thanks.

    Hi,

Where do you expect to see the shape of the light?

Well I guess it's a two part question. When looking at the link I assumed those were volumetric shapes, but maybe that's just the light falling on a wall. But then I went to see how to create visible light shapes and couldn't figure it out. i.e. as if there were atmosphere. Thanks!

For the atmosphere you need to use environment fog.
Search the forum and the documentation for details how to setup a scene with it.
