  • Pool water?

I've never needed to do water before until now, does anyone have any simple workflows for a pool in Maya, similar to http://nomeradona.blogspot.co.nz/201...-water-in.html

Basically I'm not sure what displacement settings to use, and whether to use a solid cube of water or a simple plane. I know my IOR should be about 1.33, not too sure of other settings though.

well you don't need a cube, a simple plane would be enough. For the displacement I would use 3d displacement with noise as a start and see where that takes you. For the look of the water, the refraction fog is an important factor. Setting it to a value lower then 1, and coloring it will make water look tinted. Strong fog values will make water look more deep.

Also bump it with the VRayWater bump map, it looks fantastic.
