You'll see, I'm trying to get starlit sky, and Maya 3d Texture "Granite" is awesome perfect for it.
Letting "filler color" at black, and use the other colors is perfect for get little white point doing like stars, easy to do blink, easy to get more just augmenting Density, etc...
BUT.. 3dTextures need a "Physical geometry" to "cut" texture space and be visible.
Any trick to get this texture working on Tex slot of a VrayLightDome?. Or its only possible put a "file" on it?. Would be avoidable the "Texture Resolution" parameter for get the pure matematical texture wihout rasterize it?.
