  • Vray proxies on Render Farm

    Hi,
We are using deadline as our client for the render farm. Im using Vray Proxies which currently aren't working on the farm ... everything render but not the proxies.
Do I have to do anything special to make them work? Im using a nightly build on my machine but the farm is using 2.30.1. When I render locally on my machine everything work as expected.

One more thing that I forgot to mention is that our work station are MAC but the render farm are all PCs.

    Thank you.

Have you looked at the logs from V-ray on the farm?
    Are proxy files loaded correctly?

p.s. mixing versions in not a good idea in general...

yep it was because I was using and setting up the proxies with a nightly build and then send it to the farm which was the stable version 2.30 ... so I re-install the stable version on my machine and everything is working as expected.

PS: So there is a way to have both version (latest Nightly and stable) installed on my machine and then tell Maya which one to use when I need to send to the farm or something like that?

      Thank You.

You can set things up so that you can start Maya with a different version of V-Ray loaded, but it's not possible to change the V-Ray version while Maya is running.
