  • EXR Camera to AE?

    Hi!

We use the EXR camera information in Nuke all the time. Is there some way to use it in After Effects, too? I never scripted anything in AE, so I thought I just ask before I start up.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

I don't know the exact steps to get this workflow fully working, but if i remember well, there was a few tutorials about this. You could try to search Vimeo."Importing Camera Data into After Effects from..".

      Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, I know the usual way with baking the cam and exporting via .ma. But it should be possible to just read the metadata from the EXRs in AFX, too, shouldn't it? Main reason: I don't need to export the cams anymore, but the comp guy can do it by himself, if needed

Of course we streamlined the export with scripts and stuff, but the Nuke-ish way of just getting the data from the images you actually work with is so much nicer. And you'll never get wrong versions etc.
