looking for render farm that will support V-ray Standalone export from maya.

    Hi,

We're going to need a little more information than that. You can use almost any machine on a network as a render node. In order to use the Vray export function on the node you must have maya and V-ray fully installed.

    hope this helps,

    -K

        You're probably right,

In which case Amazon servers can be relatively easy to set up and if you are using them outside peak times are good value aswell.

Bit more difficult to go over but id say... Amazon is best price to ration for now. As to others you would need to email individual render farm and ask them.

RenderFlow used to be very good back when I used them not sure how good are they now.

yeah I knew about amazon but I'm still waiting on my approval and that can take upto 2 days.

Been trying to use Zync But They can even get my stuff to upload right I have been going at it for a week and still have not been able to get a proper upload and render on their farm.

yeah but that is a scheduled farm not on demand. why doesn't anyone support direct upload of the .vrscene and other files why do I need to upload the maya files then do the export from their system. kinda defeats the purpose. the whole point is to not have to deal with all of the big maya files.

I've set it up a couple of times... u can pm me if u need any help. It do gets tricky if u have 0-0.1 basic network knowledge and so on........

They want ur maya scene on farm because if have animation and hundreds of frames then ur vrscenes will round up to gbgs of data you would need to send to them... kind off overkill for network.

Zync uses amazon for its renders.

you dont have to export a separate scene per frame for V-ray standalone anymore man.

zync - yeah but unless you are spending a butt load of money they havent really been any help. I have spent 4 days not and have not gotten one properly rendered frame. and their tech support has been almost non existant. Then the guy "Todd" chewed me out for now giving them enough time to adequately test before I needed to render.

I never had to do any of that one rebus farm! Just hit render on rebus and it uploads and works. The only reason I didn't use them this time is because their outbound transfer is slow as christmas.

I followed everything I was supposed to on zync and never got one correctly rendered frame. But my office render farm all be it small renders everything fine. ever frame I render out of this project renders fine on both OSX and windows machines.

Yes please update. Just signed up for Amazon. I am interested I mostly
Work on single frame images I wonder if this can split the job.
Most render farms don't support single frame or if they do they
Just let it run on one machine which is not any better than my Mac Pro.

If anyone has Some solutions any info would be great.

By the way full tutorial on setting up maya and 3ds max and vray with Amazon

This tutorial is sort off very old and outdated. Its quite a bit simpler to set it up nowdays, still some work tho. U definitely need a local Windows Server based machine tho.
