  • samplerInfo: vrayPointWorldReference output

    Hi there,

I believe the vrayPointWorldReference output is what is known as 'pref pass' in some circles, basically the world space point position of the pre-deformation reference (or rest) pose at the origin. Is that correct?

Trying to use it, but it seems to give me the same result as the regular pointWorld output. Do i need to do anything special to make this work?

Where does it get the pre-deformation information? Does it look at the earliest shape node of the history, and it samples that?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    cheers,
    Laszlo Sebo

It is made to work together with the Maya reference meshes and so you need to specify a texture reference mesh (Rendering > Texturing > Create texture referencing object). If you don't have one, then the result is the same as the world position pass.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
