    Hello,

You can just add it on top, with a plus or screen operation.

Can you show your render elements as well? What program are you using for compositing?

        Best regards,

            Hi,

At the comp stage in AE you have to use "Add" mode instead of the "Screen" one. Probably this is the reason way you get different results.

              Hi,

It doesn't seem to work with ADD or SCREEN!

I have attach the files. Hope you/someone will try to give it a shot.

                Hi,

I can confirm the comp differences between the results.
Would it be possible to send us the Maya file to investigate further? You can use our support mail (support@chaosgroup.com)

Yeah got the same problem, in nuke it's so easier.
                  Just use "plus"

But it must something to do with your files, you are probably clamping or something, the result is different from the beauty render.

                      Hi,

                      Thank you for the scene.

The overall brightness difference between the comp and RGB image is because of the color mapping settings. You have to set the color mapping type to Linear multiply and revert the Dark/bright multiplier to their default values "1".

This should fix part of the issue.

Now I'm going check what is the problem with the SSS material.

                        Hi,

...Super! And thanks for looking into this.

The reason for using HSV exponential color mapping with Dark multiplier set to 1.500 is to prevent color burn
that the physical camera sometimes create. But i see... Maybe it is better to prevent that from happening in another way.

                          Hi again,

Do you have access to the V-ray for Maya nightly builds? We have some improvements there regarding the SSS compositing workflow and the comp result exactly matches the one from the beauty.
