Hello Team - (Vray 3.0 for Maya, latest release) - I am creating a short film with highly detailed CG interiors. Because most of the shots have minimal camera movement, the Camera Projection technique is PERFECTLY suited for my film.
The challenge is that these interior views feature a reflective floor that needs to be 3d rendered, not projected, due to moving reflections. The rendering scheme I am seeking is to use camera projection for the walls, and then 3d rendering the floors.
My challenge is this: The only render settings for Camera Projection that yield suitably sharp results (virtually identical to the original projection texture) are:
Sampling Type: FIXED
Anti-Aliasing: OFF
Obviously, I cannot render the floors with AA turned off and with sub-standard sampling.
1. Is my approach for getting ultra-sharp camera projections incorrect?
2. Is there a way to use different sample and AA settings for the different portions of the set?
Thank you!
Andrew
