  • How to display textures in hi-res in the Viewport 2.0?

    Hi everybody!

I think everything is in the title
In Maya 2015 and Viewport 2.0, I just can't find a way to display textures linked in a VrayMat in a good resolution.
All I get is an awfull display... that's quite useless.

If someone know how to achieve that, it wolud be great!

    Regards.

    Hi,

Yes, the V-Ray material support for Maya Viewport 2.0 need to be extended. Our developers are working on this.

You can also go to the properties tab of viewport 2.0 and should a different texture size for non supported textures ( default is 64x64px i Think ) to something like 1024 or more. And then reload the map.

Sadly, for 3rd party software, all textures are unsupported in Viewport 2.0. We can request from Maya arbitrary texture size, but there is no way to get the original file image resolution. So like it was said, we use the unsupported textures size setting. We can add another setting in VRay Settings with higher default value, but without some progress on Autodesk side, we can't do more about this...
