  • cache blending on camera change

So how does it work when you are blending the light cache during rendering, what happens when the camera changes with stepped keys?
If a camera is animated to change at frame 10 the light cache for frames 8 and 9 have no barring on whats at frame 10, so what happens?

Just a thought, i probably got the wrong idea of it all.

    Thanks
    S

What do you mean by "blending light cache"? Light Cache doesn't have option to blend frames, Irradiance Map does.
Can you shed some light what exactly you are trying to do?

Yes sorry, IR maps in animation mode with light cache baked in.
If each rendered frame is a blend of 2 maps before and after, what happens when the camera view changes on one key frame to a different view? The 2 frames before hold baked light data information not relevant to the new camera view.

The Irradiance Map samples are blended in 3D Space, so if the camera jumps from one view to another it will still merge all the data but the samples outside of the current camera view won't be taken into account during rendering. The merged samples in the visible area however will be two times less and this could increase flickering.
It would be better if you split the animation in two separated cameras, or to give some extra frames before and after viewport change.

Ah thank you very much, blended in 3D space was the key here. So splitting the scene per camera shot is recommended in this case.

          Excellent!

          Thanks for that..

In general yes, but it is possible to get a good results even with single camera.
