Is there a way in Maya to set an object to have a light not be visible in it's reflection, but have the light still be visible in the reflection of another object it is reflecting?

By default if I have a plane reflecting a red ball and a light. The red ball is reflecting the plane and light. I want the plane to reflect the red ball and all of it's reflections but to not reflect the light.

You can add VRayObjectProperties to you object and exclude the light by adding it to the reflection exclusion. The list is actually a set, so once you enable it in the object properties, you can open your outliner and middle-mouse drag your light to the set. Of course, you can add any objects to this set, not just lights.
