  • Rect lights acting as matte object over top of Phoenix containers

Hey guys, Im having a problem with the latest vRay/Phoenix. When I use vRay rect lights they cut out the alpha/bty channels of Phoenix containers. Whats even strangers is that the rectLight holdouts appear to be held out in front of the container even when the lights are set behind the PHX container. Any thoughts? This happens when the rectLight is set to ‘invisible’.

    Broken under this build combo:
    Maya 2014 - Phoenix FD 2.20.00_vray3_25709
    Maya 2014 - VRay 3.05.04_25709_beta

    Worked under this combo:
    Maya 2014 - Phoenix FD 2.20.00_vray3_24920
    Maya 2014 - VRay 3.05.04_25304

    To replicate:

    • Run a PHX sim
    • Make sure the Phoenix container is occluding the rect light in the viewport

    Any thoughts?

Actually can you post or send an image? I thought I saw something strange, but it's better to check your case.

Sure thing - The black square is the rect light, and it's actually set behind the Phoenix container in 3d space. This is visible in the RGB and Alpha

We can't seem to reproduce it here. Is it possible to attach a simple scene so we can see where the problem is?

          Thank you,
