  • vray 2016 3.05.04 batch fail

when we try to batch render via the terminal (render -r vray...) we get a string of errors and the render fails:

[2015/Apr/30|15:33:59] V-Ray warning: Region partially cut out
[2015/Apr/30|15:33:59] V-Ray warning: Region partially cut out
[2015/Apr/30|15:33:59] V-Ray warning: Region partially cut out

    (etc)

    Any idea how to fix?

OK, so this actually seems to be due to having the sampler type set to Progressive when submitting to batch. I could have sworn I've done this before, but changing to Adaptive fixes the issue and the renders run fine.

That shouldn't happen at all. Can you post a scene that reproduces the problem?

This seems to be an error from the deep image writer. Are you rendering to deep EXR?

            Best regards,

              Small update on this topic.

For the next builds when the output file format is set to Deep Exr and the image sampler is Progressive, V-Ray will print a warning message and the rendering process will be terminated.

For the moment, it's not implemented. It's possible to do it technically, and it's somewhere on the "to do" list, but it's a bit complicated. For newer builds I think we just stop the render in that case.

That's super cool Yeah, we'll get to the deep output.
