  • Light Shader Aliasing issues when under another object

    Hi guys,

When I used a Light Shader right next to an object. Like an LED light strip along the edge of a table. The edges have a aliasing problem. How do I solve this?
I am using brute force as I don't have time to optimize (More like we switched to vray 3.0 and I am still lost). GI is on and Direct illumination for the object is off.

This has got to do with the brightness of the light source?

Can someone explain how this happens for me to understand better as well as how to solve it? I can't reduce the power as I believe I dialed it up to have it affect the surround enough.
    Thank you!

Did you try with subpixel mapping?

Also filtering. When you have bright objects you might want to check that filtering is set to 1.5 area or 2.0 Also try clamp value of 2-3 and max ray intensity.

Whats the reason behind sub pixel mapping? I believe that the option was because sometimes, it averages on the wrong point in the pixel and because of that it causes over bright dots. This doesn't contribute to bad aliasing isnt it?

As for the filter type, if i were to change the filter...wouldn't that affect my final result compared to the other scenes rendered?
