  • DR memory question

Was wondering this if you have two machines and are using DR rendering can u add the memory together of the two machines and enter that value in the memory allocation.
Or does this happen dynamically under the hood. If I have 32gb and 32gb it would be nice to say throw say 50gb at the rendering.

I am sure this has been answered at some pint but was always wondering this.

    Thanks, Jimmy

Each machine is completely separate; you can't add memory like this.

    Best regards,

Makes sense then is there a way to make sure you are using the most ram possible on the DR machine. Since generally you are not opening the software on those machines.

By default V-Ray uses as much memory as it need. If the scene requires all of the memory V-Ray will utilize it.
In another hand you have the option to control the amount of Dynamic memory limit (http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/V...sterParameters) that you want to use for all of the dynamic geometry in the scene, like: Displacement, VRayProxy, VRayPlane, Metaballs, Hair and Fur , etc.
