    Do check those noises.
Ivan's more machine than man, although I haven't yet found the plug to download the goodies directly from his brain.

    Hey guys,

You can check out these OSL noises and I hope you find them useful.

    Best regards,
    Ivan M.

I also would choose the alsurface as well!

I would choose ALsurface because the sss layers are normalized, making it more intuitive to get a desired final color based on the diffuse color, rather than having the sss layers tint the resulting color. The only caveat is that it would be nice if there were some "fast" option like cubic for cases where one did not want to use the slower (but better) directional or diffussion methods. That's true for the alSurface shader in general.

It would also be to great to have an OSL version of the SSS part of the ALsurface shader you implemented... once you are done tweaking it of course.

    Yes, I thought so

    Vlado & Chaos team,

Any chance we could get an OSL version of the VraySkinMtl? It's possible to create in OSL by layering the vray_subsurface closure, but quite slow. Having a dedicated OSL closure for it would be very useful

I'm trying be a material/shading artist and its hard to keep up with everything. I'm sticking with V-Ray. OSL has opened the doors to so many great things. I'm very happy for all this amazing free shit. Its really pushing V-Ray forward.

Is there a single place we can share materials/shaders that Chaos group really like and approve of and distribute?....A community shader repository or would that not be good?

yea i know but still the real PBR metal/rough shader would be good
