Missing Shelf Buttons

When you( i did) update V-Ray for Maya 3.0 to 3.1 and missing some shelf buttons just click on Create/Replace V-Ray Shelf:

I've seen this also, but I don't have idea how it happend. I think I deleted the prefs\shelves folder and it worked. It may be possible to have an issue with old shelf_VRay.mel, we must check this out.

Is there a default setting for the shelf buttons? I clicked Create/Replace Vray Shelf and it is still empty.

Although we manage to reproduce the issue, we are still not sure what caused it. For now as a workaround you can delete the Maya prefs folder or you can copy manually C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya201x\vray\scripts\shelf_VRay.me to C:\Users\<user>\Documents\maya\201x\prefs\shelves

Yes, this is the contents for me in shelf_VRay.mel;

Maya creates this shelf file, but it seems to write just these few lines with certain shelf configurations. It seems like a Maya bug, so we must think a work-around or reimplement the shelf in more robust way...

Hm, probably I did also something else... With the prefs we have to reproduce the problem, it seems the shelf is totaly broken. Creating/loading shelfs from Maya itself doesn't work. Can you create a new shelf with some buttons and see if it will load the next time properly?
