I cannot locate the Vray Quick Settings in 3.1 for Maya. Where is it?

You can find the Quick Settings in the VRay shelf tab or you can type createVRayQuickSettings; in the Script Editor.

In the Render Settings panel - under the VRay tab go to VRay UI and press Create/Replace VRay shelf - that should solve it.

I had to type it in the script editor.

The Create/Replace Vray Shelf button did not fire the shelf. Its still empty.

That's strange - what OS, Maya version are you using?

We were able to reproduce it, but it's still a bit mistery what is causing it. It's something in the prefs folder, so the easiest way to fix it is to delete it. Another solution is to copy manually C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya201x\vray\scripts\shelf_VRay.me l to C:\Users\<user>\Documents\maya\201x\prefs\shelves

I think that even with the copy solution, I fixed something additional in the userPrefs.mel... So the best advise I can give you is that the userPrefs.mel contains some garbage that prevents Maya to load (any) shelfs. You can try to fix this file or delete it. For the next SP, we will create the buttons manually, so it will work even if something is broken in Maya.
