  • V-Ray 3.1 for Maya 2016 on Windows 10 machines?

Has anyone upgraded to Windows 10 yet? I saw one person had an issue but there's really no details as to what is going on there so I thought I'd check with others.

I'll guinnea pig my home machine tonight. Was 3.1 not tested for Win10 by ChaosGroup? It's the new OS, you'd think everything would have been tested against it.

Well Vlado did say it wasn't officially tested yet. So upgrade at your own risk. Win10 is not an official release. It's only beta technically. Another user reported that Vray 3.1 freezes Maya 2016 on Win10 but Vlado did say he was looking into it.

Actually Win10 released officially today, so it's no longer beta.

I finished installing Windows 10, and so far Vray/Maya 2016 seems to be working just fine. There's a new driver out today for Nvidia card users that should be installed BEFORE running the Win10 install. Ask me how I know this.

I was able to install Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. No issues with Maya 2016 and Vray 3.1. Everything works perfect.

Good to know that it works for someone . The license check (if missing) may take a long time (it's known on Mac), so first make sure this is working correctly.
