  • Concave Reflection Workaround Anyone?

    Hi There,

I've got a slight physics problem I can't get around. I'm rendering a bathroom scene and I intend to use a concave reflective tile (like a spoon) and I'm trying to get upside-down reflections like in real life. Example, look into a spoon and your reflection is upside down - trying to get the same result in Vray - any brilliant ideas out there how to get this result? A shader trick inversion somehow?

    Cheers +
    Thanks.

If the reflective surface is concave you get an upside reflection. If you are trying to reflect from inverted normals (such as the internal area of a sphere), you should turn on the "Reflect on back side" option in the vray material. I got no problem in getting upside down reflection of an hdri and objects as well.

Thanks man, turned out my geometry wasn't quite right so I didn't get the right reflection. Tried half a sphere an presto. Cheers for taking the time to reply. Render-on!
