    Is there any way to have a plane with a vraylightmtl (being used as an image plane) to count as the background? I want to use a vraymtlwrapper as a shadow catcher, but it just shows whatever is set as the background color instead of showing the image plane.

    the reason i'm using vryalightmtl as an image plane is the "compensate camera exposure" option. So finding a way to apply that option to the regular image plane would also solve my problem.

    On your vraymtlwrapper, add material override attributes. In the environment, add your background image.

      Just getting around to trying this...

      I don't see the option to add material override attributes to the vraymtlwrapper node. I tried adding it to the base material, and plugged the image into the environment but it didn't have an effect.

        Assign Material Override attribute to the Shading Group of the Wrapper Material and follow bigbossfr instructions:
