Need help on explaining this. Did a quick check on the forums and help files. Still confused.
So in the old days, in mental ray, I remember a skylight portal was placed at the front of a window, while we used physical sun and sky. This way, the purpose of the portal was to reduce the amount of rays to just the ones that would effect the scene which is inside a room.
How does Vray Rectangle light with Skyportal ticked work? Isit for a similar purpose? Do the area lights point into the room?
When I tried it, it ended up blocking the light. What am I missing here? The help docs confuses me more.
