Multi Mattes for Nuke - Consider for AA?

Hi,


Should I enable Consider For Anti Aliasing on multi mattes? I am compositing the RAW passes in Nuke and would like to know correct workflow.

you generally don't want to aa on top of your multimattes. I just min sample my renders with 2/3 and its enough.

I thought it was correct to not turn on AA, but using them in my comp is leaving me with pretty gnarley edges. Do you need to do something with premult/ unpremult to the multimattes?

Also what do you mean by you min sample your renders by 2/3? Are you referring to min/max sub d values?

so the way sampling works in secondary buffer is that is essentially derives it from the main rgba render (primary buffer) so if your aa is low in there you will get low sampled secondary buffer. This is what I mean, go to dmc and set your min subdivs to 2-3 and it should improve.

Turning on aa for multimattes will affect the look of your primary rgb as well (its not desired for that reason)

Hmmm not sure which min subdivs you're referring to within DMC, or are you referring to these min subDs under image sampler?
