Hi guys,
Currently looking into ways of rendering out a stereoscopic 360 panoramic image in Vray + Maya. I've seen that apparently Octane allows you to do that (but I'd much rather stick to Vray that I know, use and love), and got somewhat mixed opinions about Vray, with some people saying it's doable, others that it's in development, saw a few threads in the 3ds Max section of the forums, but still no clear answer. Is it achievable without too much voodoo then?
I've created 360 videos for my client before by setting the camera to Spherical and Overriding FOV to 360 degrees. That created the renders that worked perfectly on the Oculus. I tried using the same approach, and adding Stereoscopic Camera option, but I don't think that's producing a correct result. I can't check it on Oculus and still waiting for anaglyph glasses to arrive, but as you can see from attachments, the sphere in front of the camera gets weird clipping and distortion which doesn't seem right at all.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I'm using Vray 3.10.01 x64 for Maya.
