I've been using XGen to build a forest scene with loads of trees. In an attempt to speed up the rendering I figured it would be good to set up some lower res geometry for the further away trees. I have got it to work nicely as a test in Mental Ray by setting the Hi/Mid/Lo index expressions to: "$aIndex*$aMul + $aLOD + 3".
The trouble is that I want to render in VRay, and when I do, only the high index objects are rendered as can be seen in the image below.
As I mentioned, the correct objects are rendered as per the viewport in MR, so I am sure XGen is set up correctly, this is an issue with Vray. Is it perhaps a bug or something that has not been implemented yet?
Any ideas would be much appreciated, cheers.
