  • Render Mask, Layer Override on Render Mask Object Set possible?

    Hi there.

    The render mask feature is very useful indeed. I use it a lot.

    I am able to create layer overrides on the Render Mask Mode, enabling, disabling or changing the mode per render layer although I can't seem to create a layer override on the render 'mask object set' connection to allow a different object sets to be connected on different render layers. I get the following error message..

    editRenderLayerAdjustment "vraySettings.renderMaskObjectSet";
    // Error: line 1: Unable to perform override. //

    Is there a way to achieve this? Would be fantastic if it was possible.

    Many Thanks,

    Use Object IDs?
    About the error, it's best to ask the Autodesk support. I've seen some cases where overriding sets works, and cases where it doesn't, so I'm really not sure what is going on there. The full error is:

    Code:
    // Error: line 1: Connection not made: 'renderMaskSet1.usedBy' -> 'defaultRenderLayer.adjustments[1].value'.  Incompatible multi-attribute parent levels. //
    // Error: line 1: Unable to perform override. //
    I know that the reflection exclude list in the VRayObjectProperties works, which is implemented in the very same way.

      Hi,

      I do use Object IDs, in conjunction with.

      Just to be clear, I am not wanting to override the membership of the render mask set. I want to utilise multiple sets and override the connection 'renderMaskObjectSet' per render layer.

      Thanks,
