nightlies not installing

is there any reason why latest nightlies wouldn't install on my machine? is there a special procedure for the nightlies?
i run the exe and it just hangs.

running windows 7/ maya 2016

ok nevermind i got it installed...embarrassing considering i'm seeing my image in the installer as i failed to install it.
