  • what happend to -interactive=0/1 in standalone?

hey, im trying to accsess -interactive mode in vray stand alone but it msg out that its been disabled!

is it a somthing that is coming or one that been killed?

-interactive=0/1 - enables and disables the interactive mode. The default value is 0 which means the interactive mode is disabled. Enabling it allows the user to access and modify the render settings saved in the .vrscene file. These are the same options that can be found in the "Render Settings" dialogue in Maya or Render Setup in 3dsMax. Having access to those controls allows the user to change them without having to re-export the .vrscene from either 3dsMax or Maya.

That option never worked properly actually and supporting it was a big hassle so we removed it. What do you want to do with it?

well on the nice guys i keepte having to over ried useres setting becuse it was badly setup! its why i use parameter override alot in stand alone.

it seems to be a great Leads and pipe tool and for the render warangels if they need to change thing in the vrscene. more user frinedly.

last time i spoke to Deadline guys they where keen to build a interface based around override to enable useres to do similer thing as the interactive more dose.

just sound like a realy useful fetuer to have. (from a pipe point of view not so sure about end users will go that deep in to Vrscene as i do )

Yes, it should be quite possible to use command-line overrides for this; we could also allow you to specify a separate .vrscene file with settings overrides, if you think it will help?

No, the code is just not there anymore. I can try to dig out some old version to show you...
