    I recall on their page the V-Ray support is coming for Multiverse...based on their branch of MatX (MatXS)...

      MaterialX would be a promising way to get looks (i.e. transfer of shading networks and textures assigned to multiple objects on an asset) from one DCC app to another. For example you select the top group of an asset in Maya and export a Material X file, then save out an Alembic file of the same asset for the geo, and read both the Alembic and MaterialX into Katana and render.

      This also is a good way of doing a shot build within a single DCC app like Maya, writing out the look to materialX from look-dev, and then applying that "look" (i.e. multiple shading networks and textures) to an animated Alembic asset in a shot.

      That's why it would be cool if Vray had this capability to export/import MaterialX.
