  • Negative values for Ptex displacement are being clipped

I'm trying to figure out how to get these sub-zero values from being clipped at render time and the documentation mentions that you can use the Displacement Control to adjust the min and max value but nothing changes if I adjust those. I know the map is fine because I can adjust it in Mudbox and it has smooth transitions:

Hm, this is weird. Can you post some example file? Or I can make something in Mudbox...

      Best regards,

ok – I got it working after I noticed that displacement was set to vector and not normal. Looking in the wrong place. Sorry about that. Looks good now.
