  • car work in photoshop? - layers, etc

    Hi,

I am being tasked with setting up a high end photoshop workflow for car work.. I'm hoping someone can share some insight to this kind of workflow, I come from Nuke and I am a little not so sure of how to layer the different passes.

This is pretty much what I'm using- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0WpIzi8sc4
I don't want to over complicate things for the retouchers.

For rendering separate lights how do you approach this? I had been rendering each light separately (not using light selects because you cannot separate ref only dif and spec), I will still need to do this. I'm guessing in photoshop you would have a group for each light and within that group would be the render elements. then you could mask lights as you wish. and then just have each group on linear dodge?

And how about normal passes, in photoshop. Do you use them? I would love to see how if anyone is for cars in PS as I know they are very powerful in nuke.

Any other input or tips is greatly appreciated
Working...
