  • yeti instances & bump maps

Hi I have posted this alos on the yetiCentral forum but i thought I'd post here too incase someone knows.

"Is it possible to have a bumpmap show up on an instanced peice of geo over a yeti groom ? The colour information shows up fine using the VrayScalarUser node but having trouble making a bump work .
any help if this is do-able or not would be much appreciated ."

    Thanks
    Chris

I've used bump successfully on yeti instances before, what kind of shader are you trying to apply to it?

      Hi Dmitry,
yes i have the bumpmap working actually. is there a way to get displacement of a instance to work . So not the base underlying mesh they are scattered over but the actual instances themselves be displaced as the original ?

      Thanks

Its a question to yeti developer I think if they support that option (I don't believe this worked before).

If you are trying to scatter geometry, you probably will have better result with vray scatter at this point.

I think using a .vrmat material might be currently the only way to get displacement working. It's way too inconvenient though.
