  • VRayNoiseLevel RE in 3.5

I was pretty sure this would be exposed in 3.5 as it was in Vray for Max 3.5.
Haven't tried the latest release, but in the docs it says nothing about it. Maybe they aren't fully updated yet?
Would be great to be able to add this separately.

Can you explain a bit why you would want to add it separately? I added it in Max while I was experimenting with denoising and we didn't have a built-in denoiser yet, but I didn't think it would have any practical use.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

We would like to try to use the Denoiser in Nuke, but avoid rendering MultiChannel exrs.
I couldn't find another way of exporting the VRayNoiseLevel RE.
The idea is to combine all the RE's and denoise single RE, like GI only when necessary.
If the performance in Nuke's not good enough it could be interesting to run this through the standalone denoiser.

      Thanks

        Hi Vlado,

is there any chance we might get the VRayNoiseLevel RE, so we can try to see if it gives us the results, we hope for.
Or do you think this won't be useful, in order to denoise individual RE's.

        Thanks,

        Michael

Still working on it, but you can try without the noise level RE - in which case you will just have to dial in some noise level manually in the denoiser settings (usually the same value as in the V-Ray image sampler).

          Best regards,
          Vlado
