  • Volumetric Light in V-Ray for Maya - laser/light beam effect as in ChaosGroupTV Video

    Hi,

I've been trying to create a similar effect as the light beam from the ChaosGroupTV Youtube - V-Ray 3.5 for Maya - Resumable Rendering tech. doc presentation

Been reading all the sections from the V-Ray manual and can't find a way to only apply EnviromentFog only to the Spot Light, VRayRect Light or any specific light without applying the fog effect to the background / environment. For instance in 3DsMax, there is the VRayEnviromentFog nodes where you can apply the effect only to a specific list of Lights without affecting the environment (ChaosGroup provided a sample scene for 3DsMax here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-Vu5UcMuF4).

So, guys if you can help me out with this that would be so great, I really ran out of ideas on how to do this type of effect.

Too bad that there are quite some examples with sample scenes by ChaosGroup for 3DsMax and none for Maya.
Please ChaosGroup, if is it possible to post the Scene from Resumable Rendering demonstration, that would really help me and others to learn.

    Thank you,
    Serban

I replied in the other thread https://forums.chaosgroup.com/showth...-volume-object - see if that helps.
