  • Vray Standalone - Render to existing Framebuffer

    Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to render to an existing Framebuffer, or one that has been specified before from Vray Standalone.
Whenever I start a new render it opens up a new Frambuffer.

    Cheers,

    Michael

I don't think this is possible. V-Ray Standalone always opens a new VFB window for the rendering and it doesn't allow you to run second rendering before closing the exiting VFB or terminating the rendering.
The only exception I believe is when rendering animations, then V-Ray uses the same VFB for all frames.

Depending on what exactly you're after, you can either do it in post and render only a region before that or go into Maya (for example) where you can have your previous frame buffer still loaded with pixels. Or while rendering in standalone - you can add a background image to the frame buffer, but this is going to be blended based on the alpha. https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ackgroundImage
