  • Light Select Render Element with Vray Light Material object

Hopefully there is a trick to this. So I can select Vray lights and place them into a Light Select group for compositing later. However I have a piece 3D geometry with LightMaterial attached. This is emitting light onto the wall around it. Is it possible to capture this into a seperate render element as well. I've tried dropping the object into a Light Select group but renders the pass as black. Maybe a simple way to handle this......... quick answers welcome

Just to confirm, I'm not after the actual object itself as the Self Illumination pass captures this, just the light bouncing on the surfaces around it, same as a standard vray light and Light select pass.

We don't support this right now. I guess you could mimic this behavior by just rendering a separate pass with only the lightMtl objects emitting light.

Ah yes thank you for letting me know, just in case I was missing something. I did what you have suggested in the end. I always Divide my Lighting Element passes by the Diffuse element so I also get a RawLighting pass for free, then multiply that over the diffuse pass once again to get a clean composite, so this workaround works well for now.

      Thank you
