  • Is there any way to bloom vray lights in a foggy scene?

So, on a physical location when shooting a light in a foggy environment you get a haze/bloom around the light. Like this scene from Children of Men:

As well as there being a haze around it the edges are blurrier.

When I render a vray scene I get something like this:

There is no haze around the light and the edges are still perfectly sharp. Is there any way to get these effects in the render? Or would these have to be done in comp?
    Please advise.
    Thanks!

You could try with the VFB lens effects. This will also give you control over what objects will have the gloom effect by either using obejctID (in which case you would like to use mesh lights) or by playing with the intensity bloom mask. The alternative would be to do this entirely in post.

Naturally like the photograph you would need to add an environment fog to the scene , it would give you that result, have you tried that?
