  • Excluding an object from zdepth

I have a scene in a store. The store has glass windows. I'd like to use the zdepth pass but everything gets cut off at the windows and doesn't include the depth of the street beyond. Short of making a new render layer, is there a way to exclude the glass object from the zdepth pass?

    Please advise.
    Thanks!

Not sure if it is exactly the same in maya, but in max you can set the material refraction affect channels from color only to all channels.

This does increase your render time.

Hey that worked! I'm trying to see if there are any unintended side in any of my other passes, but for the moment it seems this did exactly what I wanted it to do.
      Thanks!
