  • Mesh and material light bug?

If I create a mesh light and turn its primary visibility off (either with an object properties node or in render stats), then create a duplicate object in the same space to render with primary visibility on, I get very odd and unusable results. Should this work?

Could you share with us some screenshots of your results and could you give us more details on what exactly do you mean with "very odd and unusable results".

Here is a simple example, with the light casting mesh invisible and a copy visible. As you can see, the second object gets weirdly clipped. I tried to upload the scene file but got an "invalid file" message.

Forum has some file restrictions. Please archive the scene in Zip format and try to upload it again.

OK, here it is. Couldn't be much simpler. Two poly spheres in the same space with one a mesh light with primary vis off and the second with it on. Rectangle light there only to illuminate what shows of the visible sphere.

Thanks for the scene. It looks like this is a bug with the latest version which seems to be already fixed for the next one.
