  • Multiple Multi_Mattes on same shader/geo

    Hi all

is it possible to have multiple Multi_Mattes on same shader/geo?

I have several pieces of geometry with a one material, to which I have assigned a Multi_Matte.

I would then like a couple of pieces of the same geometry to have a separate Multi_Matte.

    Cheers

Yes this is possible, you can extract a MultiMatte element from the material that is applied to all the objects, this will give you a mask of all objects.
You can also extract a separate masks for each of the objects with that material by using Object IDs and another MultiMatte element that operates with Objects IDs unlike the previous one that uses Material IDs.

You have to check the "Use Material ID" in the multimatte element, below where you enter the ID numbers for RGB.
