Chaosgroup research on distributed rendering using blockchain technology?

I don't really know if this fits in here but I wonder what the state of research regarding using blockchain technology for global distributed rendering is? Is there any research being conducted? Is this an area of research for Chaosgroup at all or would you rather say this is an area for higher-level companies such as ISPs or similar ones?
