  • Dome Light and Dome Texture Units

Hey everyone, I've been looking through the Vray documentation, Chaosgroup forums, and scouring Google but have not been able to find an answer to this question: What units does the Vray Dome Light use in Maya (Lumens, Watts, something else)? And, if I'm using an HDR Dome Texture do the pixel values directly correspond to the Light Color setting (a measured pixel value of say 2.0 is equal to 2 units whatever that might be). We are trying to scale our own HDRIs to realistic values reflecting the intensity of the location's light we were capturing for physically accurate lighting. But without knowing lighting units its hard to know how measured pixel values correspond to measured light values.

DomeLight uses default light units, more information about default units could be found in the Units section of Rectangular or Sphere lights:
