  • Force Vray to ignore surface normals?

Is there any way to force Vray to ignore surface normals? I have a geometry-based effect in Maya coming from an alembic cache out of Cinema 4D. The cache and render are fine, however there are a lot of reversed normals on the geometry, and no easy way to fix them in Maya. For the RGB I can get this to work by using a double sided shader with the same base plugged into back and front. However, this doesn't fix the normals problem for render elements such a dirt map AO pass, which renders the reversed faces black. Right now the only fix I can think of is to render this using the same double sided method, however this is extra work to set up. Ideally I would just like a checkbox in Vray to ignore normals or render all as double sided. In Maya this is easily done in render stats on a per surface basis. Never understood with Vray doesn't have something similar to toggle single or double sided.
