  • alpha and render elements without primary visibility?

I know this sounds odd to ask, but is there a way to make an object be visible in the alpha and render elements, but not in the primary beauty pass? I tried different combinations of the object properties and the material wrapper. It makes sense that it wouldn't work, but didn't know if there was a hidden trick.

Depends what render elements you're talking about. If you want primary beauty elements like reflection and lighting, I don't think there's any way to do this. If you only have utilities like velocity etc. you can simply apply a black light material. Technically it's still rendering into the RGB but will show up black. Curious to know why you don't want anything in the RGB anyway though?
