Hi there. It's possible to see the vol grid on the Vel pass and Ocl pass ? Im trying with out any luck. Still on Vray 3.5. Atmopheric pass works fins, and self ilumination. to. Any ideas ?
Hi. Thanks for the reply. Effectively now I can see the vol grid on Ocl pass and Vel, but is not rendered now on the atmospheric_effects pass. Also I cant see the Vol grid on my Light Select passes as well. Any ideas ?
Unfortunately you can't get the atmospheric pass and the other passes together for the Volume Grid. When you set the render mode to Volumetric Geometry, V-Ray will treat the Volume Grid as geometry, so it won't show up in the atmosphere pass, but will work with the rest of the Render Elements.
In order for the Light Select passes (this applies to most render elements) to work, make sure you are using Volumetric Geometry mode.
I see. It's quite limited. It's only on a volumengrid ? What would be the work around to have it render with the proper render passes ? I render it with Volumetric Geometry but I cant do much as I compose on Nuke and I need the atmosphere channel. Looking forward for your reply.
Yes, this is only for the Volume Grid. You can render two times (not the best thing to do, but I hope we can improve this in the future). Render the atmosphere pass in the Volumetric mode and the rest of the passes that you need in Volumetric Geometry mode.
Hi, thanks. I know, but it may not work as it basically creates a geometry to create the passes. In the vel pass I dont see much of depth information so it may not work properlly. Anyway, I will try. And yes it would be a fantastic future addition to the renderer. Thanks for your reply.
